Sustainability is a collective term which refers to our economic, environmental and social responsibilities as a business. Sustainability to us is about improving our environment and communities now and for future generations. By engaging with customers, end-users and local communities, we create a shared understanding of the needs and impacts of our projects, together with a view of what is technically possible and adds value.
We aim to promote sustainability through responsible sourcing of suppliers and materials, good design, minimising waste and providing a safer working environment for staff, building users and the surrounding community.
There continues to be strong emphasis within the built environment to deliver buildings that are not only cost effective but also constructed to BREEAM or it's US equivalent LEED sustainability standards. We have an excellent understanding of these requirements having successfully achieved BREEAM 'Excellent' and LEED ratings on developments within our portfolio. Examples include the recently completed University of Hertfordshire Law School, Eli Lilly's research facility in Windlesham, Surrey, RDS commercial office development in Dublin and IBM's 80,000sq. ft 'Smart City' office development.
